Passage: Exodus 36:2-7
A greater opportunity was divinely prepared. 36:1
God gave people a heart. 36:2
35:21 Everyone whose heart stirred him and everyone whose spirit moved him
35:22 Then all whose heart moved them. . .
35:26 All the women whose heat stirred . . .
35:29 The Israelites, all the men and women, whose heart moved them. . .
35:34 He has also put in his heart to teach. . .
36:2 everyone whose heart stirred him. . .
God gave people skill and understanding. 36:1
. . . the LORD has put skill and understanding 36:1
A greater opportunity was clearly communicated.
Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do.” 35:1
Then Moses called. . . 36:2
The Sabbath was to be observed. 35:1-3
We must first rest in the Lord before we can work for the Lord.
We must first receive from the Lord before we can give to the Lord.
An offering was to be received 35:4-9
God would receive offerings from His people.
Those with a willing heart were to bring an offering.
A tabernacle was to be built. 35:10-19
The tabernacle would remind the people of all that God did.
The tabernacle would represent the presence of God.
The tabernacle would rally the people in unity and community.
A greater opportunity was decisively seized.
36:5 The people are bringing much more than enough for the construction. . .
36:7 For the material they had was sufficient and more than enough for all the work, to perform it.
The materials received were more than enough.
The people gave more than enough.
