Passage: John 6:22-58
Jesus proclaims the work of God as faith in Him. 26-29
Jesus proclaims true bread from heaven comes from the Father. 30-34
Jesus proclaims He is the bread of life. 35-49
Jesus provides satisfaction to those who believe.
Jesus provides security to those who believe.
Jesus provides certainty for those who believe.
Jesus transitions to metaphorical language. 48-58
Jesus restates “I am the bread of life” which is a metaphor just like the other “I
am” statements.
Jesus goes from the feeding of the 5,000 with physical bread to feeding people
spiritually with the bread of life.
Jesus states that He is the fulfillment of this better future by giving Himself.
Compare the result of “eat My flesh” and “drink My blood” with belief in Christ.
