That You May Believe: Jesus and His Deity

SCRIPTURE: John 1: 1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [b]comprehend it.
NOTES:
1. Jesus pre-existed in eternity.
2. Jesus co-exists in the Godhead.
3. Jesus exists as God.
4. Jesus is the creator.
5. Jesus gives life.
6. Jesus is the Light.
Conclusion:
Only God is eternal, and Jesus is eternal; therefore, He is God.
Only God is creator, and Jesus is creator; therefore, He is God.
Only God gives life, and Jesus gives life; therefore, He is God.
Only God is the light for all men, and Jesus is the light for all men; therefore, He is God.
