Passage: John 12:37-50
Many were not believing despite His miracles. 37-40
John predicted unbelief.
John stated the purpose of the many signs were so that they would believe.
John pointed to OT Scripture that predicted unbelief.
John pointed to OT Scripture to explain unbelief.
Unbelieving Jews rejecting Jesus would crucify Him so that Jews and Gentiles who
believe in Him will be saved by Him.
The cross that exposes the wickedness of people’s hearts also exalts and glorifies God
and His Son.
OT prophet Isaiah spoke of God because he saw His glory. 41
Does secret belief that seeks man’s approval over God’s approval save? 42-43
Belief in Jesus reflects belief in God the Father. 44-45, 49-50
Jesus came as Light into the world. 46
Jesus came to save the world. 47
Jesus’ words will judge those rejecting Jesus. 47
