Passage: John 11:1-44
We who believe are secured by the providential love of Jesus.
“Behold, he whom you love is sick.” 11:3
Despite perplexing delay.
“Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Mary. So when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two days longer in the place where He was.” 11:5‐6
Despite crushing disappointment.
“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 11:21, 32
Despite overwhelming grief.
“When Jesus saw her weeping...” 11:33‐36
We who believe are confident in the authoritative declaration of Jesus.
“I am the resurrection and the life...” 11:25
We confidently believe in His promise of eternal life.
“He who believes in Me will live even if he dies...” 11:25
We confidently believe in His victory over death.
“Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.”
DO YOU BELIEVE THIS ?
11:26
Yes, Lord, I have believed that You are the Christ the Son of God. 11:27
We who believe are transformed by the powerful call of Jesus.
He cried out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 11:43 We were transformed by His call to regeneration.
“You must be born again.” John3:7
We are being transformed by His call to sanctification.
“You are to be perfect as my Father in heaven is perfect.”
We will be transformed by His call to glorification.
Matthew 5:48
“For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16
(The scripture reading will be John 11:1‐14)
